Support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 1 (BC26)
At FORNAV, we are committed to making sure that our solutions support the latest versions of BC, and our release cycle is aligned with the release cycle of BC. This time is no exception and FORNAV 8.0 supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 1 (BC26).
One of the great advantages of using the FORNAV Customizable Report Pack for customers is that they can always be confident that their reports work, regardless of new BC releases, without having to do anything.
FORNAV 8.0 has also been tested with the removal of obsolete fields, as announced by Microsoft. If you have any doubts about this related to your own customized or built reports, we encourage you to take advantage of our health check feature.
Peppol integration for easy and secure distribution of e-invoices
One of the easiest and most secure ways of distributing e-invoices while meeting regulatory requirements is the fully automated transmission via the Peppol network (Pan-European Public Procurement Online).
Sending e-invoices using the Peppol network is one of the transmission methods accepted by all authorities, and it is the only method supporting machine-to-machine communication and the mass sending of e-invoices.
You can read more about our Peppol offering here: https://www.fornav.com/peppol
File attachment via the File Service throughout Business Central
In FORNAV 8.0, you can use the File Service feature because we have “re-implemented” the option to attach files to, for instance, Customers, Items, or Orders. These files are attached as a link to a local or network drive, so they don’t take up database space in your Business Central solution. This allows for people outside of Business Central to have access to the files, such as product fact sheets, drawings, pictures, or similar.
Keeping your software secure and up-to-date
Security is a top priority at FORNAV. We regularly update the code libraries to ensure that any vulnerabilities found in older versions are fixed. We’ve done this in FORNAV 8.0 as well, ensuring that your software stays secure, stable, and aligned with the latest industry standards.
ZUGFeRD improvements
We’ve improved our support for ZUGFeRD, based on feedback from partners since the receipt of e-invoices in Germany became mandatory on January 1, 2025. We’ve added new features to make importing and exporting e-invoices even easier.
Importing e-invoices:
- Enhanced support for item references: when customers purchase an item from different vendors, each of these vendors might have their own item number. Like standard Business Central, when e-invoices are imported, FORNAV now maps these different item references to the correct item number in BC
- The standard Business Central Text to Account functionality has been added to the FORNAV e-invoicing import. Text to Account enables the mapping of e-invoice information other than items (for example, transportation) to the relevant G/L account, based on the text used in the e-invoice
- New functionality to read the SKONTO terms and discounts
Exporting e-invoices:
- In Germany, invoices must include certain legal details to comply with the country’s regulations: the Name of the CEO, the Court of Registration, the Business Name, and the Commercial Register Number are typically required. Therefore, we have added these fields to the FORNAV Setup page, making it simpler to export e-invoices
Enhancements to the Report Pack including a move to the new custom layout
We have made a number of enhancements to the FORNAV Customizable Report Pack, including:
- New and improved report and layout page
With the release of BC 27 (fall 2025), Microsoft will enforce the use of custom layouts (a new type of tenant layout introduced in BC20). This means that it will no longer be possible to customize reports in the current Word format, and this will put an end to any dependency on the Word format moving forward.
FORNAV is already fully ready to take advantage of this new layout. When you upgrade to FORNAV 8.0, all FORNAV reports will automatically be converted to the custom layout format – well before the BC 27 deadline.
- Report Pack
- Add transfer line to Item Tracking codeunit
- Fix statement detailed customer ledger entry filtering
- Fix open custom layouts when opening layout for a deleted report
-
Service commitment (new subscription module) temp table, to add subscriptions to standard FORNAV reports:
Add Microsoft.SubscriptionBilling.”Sales Service Commitment” temporary dataitem - Activate layouts on import
Updated End User License Agreement (EULA)
We have updated our End User License Agreement (EULA), primarily in two areas: we have added clarifications related to the Fair Usage clauses, and we have added additional terms related to the use of our Peppol integration and being a Peppol Access Point, to comply with the Peppol authority requirements.
