Announcing ForNAV 7.4

We are happy to announce the general availability of ForNAV 7.4.

The main highlights of ForNAV 7.4 include:

  • Support for BC 25
  • Direct Print and File Service: improved performance and scalability
  • Enhancements to the Report Pack including improved built-in/custom layout capabilities and more

Support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25)

At ForNAV, we are committed to making sure that our solutions support the latest versions of BC, and our release cycle is aligned with the release cycle of BC. This time is no exception and ForNAV 7.4 supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25). One of the great advantages of using the ForNAV Customizable Report Pack for customers is that they can always be confident that their reports work, regardless of new BC releases, without having to do anything about it.

Direct Print and File Service: improved performance and scalability

We have worked on improving performance and scalability in ForNAV Direct Print and ForNAV File Service with:

  • Additional settings to control responsiveness.
  • Reduced table locking for environments with multiple print services and Business Central service tiers.

Enhancements to the Report Pack

We have made a number of enhancements to the ForNAV Customizable Report Pack, including:

  • New and improved report and layout page

Starting with Business Central 24, Report Layouts became the default for creating custom layouts. All existing Custom Report Layouts were converted to these new tables. Because ForNAV relies on these layouts, we’ve updated ForNAV to use the new report layouts exclusively. We have also created a new ForNAV report page to manage and select layouts more easily.

Read this knowledge base article to understand what these report layouts are, where you can find them, and what you can use them for – or watch this short Coffee Break video for more information.
  • Report and system health check

Over time, Business Central tables, fields, and objects can become outdated or removed, which can lead to issues with your reports. ForNAV can now perform an automatic health check of your reports. The health check runs each time you open a report or the setup. It detects any problems and provides detailed error information, helping you fix them quickly and easily.

Read more about the new health check in this knowledge base article or watch this short Coffee Break video for more information.
  • The ability to add prepayment invoice information

It is now possible to add prepayment invoice information to any ForNAV report. Adding prepayment lines works for both the Sales Header and the Sales Invoice Header base DataItems.

Read more about how to add a prepayment temporary table in this knowledge base article.
