Exceeding the maximum number of allowed documents

Exceeding the maximum number of allowed documents

This problem occurs only in Business Central Cloud version 24.4 or higher

When running a ForNAV or Word report on Business Central Cloud, the following error will occur if the first dataitem in a report produces more than 200 rows:

The operation has been canceled because the number of processed documents exceeded the maximum allowed number of documents (200). Refine your filters to include less data and try again.

We just had confirmation from Microsoft that they have solved the issue – and a fix will be rolled out in the week of October 14, 2024. This fix will be updated automatically and requires no update of version for customers. We will update this article when we see it has been rolled out.

A workaround is to set the maximum number of records in the request page using the Maximum documents field:

However, the largest allowed value is 500 and in some cases this will not be enough. To get around this, you must set the filter on the first data item in the report so it only produces the Maximum documents value set in the request page.

Error message in German:

Der Vorgang wurde abgebrochen, weil die Anzahl der bearbeiteten Belege die maximal zulässige Beleganzahl (200) überschritten hat. Verfeinern Sie Ihre Filter, um weniger Daten einzuschliessen, und versuchen Sie es erneut.
